– Mark Zuckerberg criticized Trump’s decision on DACA
– Now, his company, Facebook has admitted to taking $100,000 for ad buys which is likely from the Russians.
On Wednesday, Facebook announced that it had found ads worth $1000, 000 from accounts likely operated out of Russia.
The dominant network said the worth of the ads was able to buy 3,000 Facebook ads for 470 pages and inauthentic accounts which were likely to be operated out of Russia.
It should be noted that this ads may have aided in Trump’s deformation campaign during the 2016 election cycle as according to the company, the ads did not specifically target candidates, and instead, they were used to promote political messaging on subjects like immigration, gay marriages, gun rights and race.
It should be noted that this piece of information came out the same day Mark Zuckerberg, the co-founder and CEO of Facebook hosted a Facebook live session where he interviewed three Dreamers, in an effort to condemn the US president’s decision on DACA. copyright. www.naijapr.com
Zuckerberg, who has previously been one of the business leaders to call on the president said offering the American dream to people and then taking it away and punishing them for trusting the government is one of the most troubling thing he has seen in a long time in the country.
Now, he and other leaders will have to turn to Congress for a fix, and lawmakers may now be looking to Facebook for answers on the meddling of Russia as the chief security officer of Facebook is said to be cooperating with federal inquiries into the influence operations during the election.
