Don Jazzy does not believe that he will win a Grammy, ever. The Mavin boss has revealed that he doesn’t think he’ll ever win a Grammy award.
Don Jazzy, who is currently in Mauritius for the Multichoice Content Showcase event, where he led other members of his record label to a performance revealed that his yardstick for measuring his success does not include awards.
In his words, “I don’t think am moving at my speed, I’m moving at God’s speed, so most times, the decisions that I make, when I look back, I just smile and say that’s how God wants it.” Don Jazzy told NET.
Speaking further, Don Jazzy said, “I’m doing perfect, I’m doing great, I don’t have big eyes, I don’t think I’ll ever win a Grammy, I’m not abusing myself but it’s just realistic. I don’t think Grammy is set up that way.
“It’s not set up in a way where you’ll just wake up from Nigeria and pick up a Grammy. If it happens fine, but am
not basing my success on winning a Grammy or any award for that matter.”
Don Jazzy has also revealed his personal secret to making hit songs.
The Mavin Records CEO has developed and maintained a career in music, reinventing his priorities for over a decade, with production, talent
management, singing and music Entrepreneurship among his skills.
But the bedrock of his success in music has been his ability to consistently produce smash hit songs for numerous artistes.
“I don’t know about the Midas touch, but I think what it is, is that, I understand th ech market first.” Don Jazzy said. “I also understand people to a large extent, the common problem with people in the industry, is not really understanding the individuals they deal with, either the artiste of their staffs. I run a very beautiful organization where everyone is friends. We are family, I don’t come and start using veto power, because I am the boss, the greatest idea might come from the little guy there. So I listen to everybody and it works.”
